easiest VETO I have ever had to give here. This one is a layup but if you need explaination.
Ziegler has a 1.08 ERA with 15 saves, Rodney has a 5.50 ERA with 16 saves - both 1 year deals. Arod and Span are both quality players and he even gives a dollar all for a 4th round pick !! Come on guys the league is slow but this is a must veto.

No one is buying...I've tried getting rid of these guys. Nobody wants them. I've had them on the trade block for a month and no one gave me a better offer. I'm not going anywhere this year, so they don't do me any good sitting on my roster.

Cost of doing business. Supply and demand.
Phillies said it for me.
If anyone else was interested in these guys they would be gone.

Well I'd say you guys just sealed your own fate. You admit this hurts the leagues integrity and you're just giving away players for the sake of giving them away. Like I said easiest Veto I've ever had in this league and that is saying something

Your comments are so subjective.
What is enough "more"?

Subjective? Phillies gave away an elite closer, two all star caliber players and a dollar for a 4th round pick. LOL there is no subjective here at all. No matter how you want to spin it Cards this hurts the league in a wide variety of ways.

I just disagree.
Phillies is Doing the best for his team long term. He said himself that no one else wanted these guys and there was no reason to hurt himself by keeping guys with no rights.

Absolutely. Why not? If it helps you net picks rather than nothing, why wouldn't you?

I understand both sides here.
Phillies basically traded 3 rentals for a 4th round pick and had to take Rodney to offset the cost. He got what he could get.
However, previous trades set the precedence and perceived value of what a rental should cost to acquire. This trade kills that value.
Historically a trade has been deemed vetoable due to collusion and not by balance of trade. This trade hurts the value of rentals and may have ripple effects in future trading but is not deemed collusion.
Unless Rockies disagrees then the trade will stand.

I can understand you guys saying that Cards got a great deal. I agree that he did. I think my guys were worth far more than that, but since no one seemed willing to pay me the price that I thought I deserved I took the highest bid.
I think that the 4 division leaders being so far ahead of their competition really limited the teams who were buying, and like Cards said, it is simple supply and demand. I had supply of a 3B, a closer, and an OF, and every team in the race didn't need any of those, so the demand was really low. When the demand is low, price must decrease in order to sell your product.
