Hey all, I really feel we need to create more flexibility in this covid world in the play offs. Locking rosters doesn’t really make sense when guys can go out for the year or multiple guys for covid for 7-10 days like the nfl has now.
My vote would be to remove the roster lock for playoff teams.

If there is enough league interest in this I can create a poll so we can put it to a vote.

I would be open to the idea if we had stipulations on the roster moves during that time. Like you would have to have "X" number of players on the IL or other circumstances. So that you are not just trying to get the hot guy at the moment. I understand this would be a headache to manage though.

We also don't know what the covid protocols will be for this season and they could change during the season like the NFL has just done. There would need to be some stipulations for how it was used for sure. Maybe institute something for the playoffs only, if it is still a big issue, where you can add a player who is a free agent to your roster who plays the same position as the player who went on the covid list but have to drop him once the original player is back on the active roster. Make it like a covid waiver wire for the play offs so teams can field a full roster. If we remove that lock and there is a player who is doing well and goes up for auction, then it could take as long for that auction to end as it would for someone to come off the covid list, defeating the original purpose of removing the lock.
I'm for making some adjustment should there be a need, but we should probably see what the MLB protocols are before going into all of it because they may not test as much making it much less of an issue this season.
