I have 2 proposed rule changes.
1. If you nominate a player without an initial bid and he goes 24 hours without being bid on by another team the nominating team gets that player on a 1x1 contract.
2. A player has to receive a 2 year contract to be RFA eligible.

I actually thought #1 was already in effect so I'm fully on board with that and #2 makes plenty of sense. We need to stop the insane turnover in this league any way we can.

On #2, does that mean players signed to 1 year deals this year aren’t eligible or are you proposing starting next offseason?

Yes #2 would take effect starting next offseason.
#1 would start immediately

I'm good with both (and when they'd take effect.)

I don't think we need to vote on #1 but probably should with #2. What do you guys think?

#1 should be a no-brainer.
For #2, what problem are we trying to fix? Not saying that I'm against it, but if you only have 2 RFAs to use, why does it matter which expiring contracts those are used on?

Before we switched to the 2 RFA tags it had to be a 2 year deal to get RFA rights.
This will prevent guys from signing players to what basically amounts to a 1 year tryout with the option of tagging them a RFA.
Also takes away some of the appeal of over paying on a RFA for 1 year.
I know there are other GMs that feel you shouldn't get any rights on a 1 year contract.

Granted we limited the RFA tags because it seemed like we were headed to where every player was a RFA and wanted to create a little more turnover to keep everyone active but at the heart of it this is still a dynasty league.

Is there a poll coming? Or is the rule all set for next year?
