Hello all, I believe we went over this last year in the thread called "Yet another rule change" (if you want to read it over). The end result was the post below by Braves. I guess we should have updated that rules section Phillies, sorry.
Well the way we have done it is that you announce in your bid whom you would drop if you won the auction. For example: Say I have $15 left and go to $16 on my bid for Medlen. My bid would look like this
$16 - 2016
Dropping Ervin Santana. I have not officially dropped him, just stating if that I win the auction the corresponding move is to drop Santana.
THat is the way it should be. Takes care of Phillies issue of not being able to bid over your cap. Takes care of other peoples issues of having a hard $280 free agency cap.
