Who would you pick for the Hall?
My ballot: 1. Randy Johnson 2. Pedro Martinez 3. Barry Bonds 4. Roger Clemens 5. Mike Piazza 6. John Smoltz 7. Mark McGwire* 8. Sammy Sosa* 9. Craig Biggio 10. Curt Schilling
*Their career numbers don't necessarily deserve the hall, however, I think their home run race really saved baseball, so I think they deserve a spot in the hall.

A very tough one. There are 14-16 guys I think I would vote for, given the opportunity.
In no real order... 1. Randy Johnson 2. Pedro Martinez (49 voters didn't vote for this guy?? OK, not as durable as some, but all that makes him is a better version of Sandy Koufax) 3. Mike Piazza 4. Barry Bonds 5. Roger Clemens 6. Craig Biggio (Maybe not outstanding in any one facet of the game, but very good at all of them. Still pretty amazed by his 1997, when he drew 34 hit-by-pitches and didn't ground into a single double play all season. That's a lot of added value lurking below the surface.) 7. Jeff Bagwell 8. Curt Schilling 9. John Smoltz 10. Tim Raines (If I solely selected my top 10, I might put Mussina or Trammell here. But Raines is very close, and with just 2 years left on the ballot after this, I'd cast my vote for him. I also think Raines was hurt more than anyone by "hanging on" as long as he did -- he wasn't compiling many more SB at that point, and you don't pay much attention to the power categories anyway. Hanging on those couple extra years also gives him just the 10 years on the ballot now instead of 15...)
Also, I can't justify voting for him, because he's clearly not even one of the top 15 candidates, but part of me was glad to see Nomar hang around on the ballot another year. He absolutely had a Hall of Fame peak for his first 6-7 seasons in the league, he just fell apart after that. If he enters the ballot 10 years ago, there is a little more debate about him (he seems like a similar candidate to Mattingly.)

By "Raines is very close", I mean to my personal top 10. He's certainly improving his %'s, but I think he's still a longshot to get elected by the writers.

If I had more spots. I think these guys should be in too. Trammell Edgar Martinez Lee Smith Bagwell
but I think that the BBW does a piss poor job of letting guys in and that's why the Hall has set up so many committees. Also I know the arguments against them but DH and RP are positions and are not represented much at all.
