So like last year, I went through everyone's schedule to see who had the toughest and easiest schedules for the previous season. My ranking system is very simple and crude in which I ordered the teams from 1 to 16 based on their final standings (not playoff finish) and then added up the numbers associated with each team on the schedule. For example, Yankees started with 136 (the number of 1-16 added together since we play everyone once) followed by 3 (TB), 14 (MON), 15 (DET), 5 (NYM), 7 (STL), and 12 (COL). Those are the six teams he played twice. That totaled 192. Hopefully, that makes sense to everyone. So with all that being said, here is the strength of schedule rankings from last year.
1. Rockies 170 2. Cardinals 173 3. Expos 177 4. Braves 178 5. Tigers 182 6. Nationals 183 7. Marlins (PIT) 184 8. Royals 188 TIE Cubs 188 10. Red Sox (CIN) 190 11. Phillies 191 12. Yankees 192 13. Mets 197 TIE Rays 197 15. Angels 201 TIE Indians 201
Just some interesting info as we get ready for this season.
