Red Sox send: Christian Yelich - prospect R.A. Dickey - 2013 - $22.5 Paul Konerko - 2013 - $8.2 Michael Morse - 2013* - $3.0
Yankees send: Ryan Braun - 2015* - $41.65 $5 cap space
Now don't get yourself in any more trouble, Braun! If I trade for a guy who ends up getting banned for life, I'll be pissed...

I gotta say this was a tough pill to swallow. Not only because he is such a great fantasy guy but I looked back at the very first year this league was established and he was one of my original players. Good luck Boston, you'll love his numbers

Yea right yanks. You win again. Braun is good but yelich is a top minor league guy.
Props to you for cashing in on Braun. Enjoy spending that money this off season on someone not coming off a PED ban.
Disappointed in Bo sox again.

Uh oh, I've disappointed Cards. So sorry.
Yelich is obviously a talented player, but 4 months ago, Braun was a consensus Top 3 guy, along with Trout and Cabrera (and during free agency, $41 ended up looking like a bargain). If Yelich pans out exactly as hoped, he probably still comes up short of that, without the same power ceiling. I think this is only a clear loss for me if you think Braun's true talent level is significantly lower than the numbers he's been putting up his whole career (I don't) or if he's going to have another run-in with MLB (at this point, he has to know what's on the line so I can't imagine him doing something new.)
