For you rookies (and less decorated managers)...
Here are you top 10 KIRBY FA's for 2012.
Based on number of positions per rosters (2 OFs, 1 CF, CL, SS) here are your top 10 FAs heading into AUCTION time babay!!!!!!
Please feel free to debate or make your own list.
1. 3B - Miguel Cabrera (Based on obtaining 3B status) - Outside of career years no other FA can match Biggy Miggy's year in and out production. I'm going to be bold enough to say no one could even come close to the production he could put in your 3b slot. He should play 160 games barring injury bc of the dh. And he is 2-3 years younger than Pujols. If he drops to 3b elig he goes down behind upton.
2. CF - Carlos Gonzalez - The dude will play this whole year at 26. He had a kinda down year last year from his MVP run in 2010, but his power, CF elig, 30 steal potential and home ball park leave him here.
3. 3B - Jose Bautista -(barely 3B, its like they knew he needed 25 games for espn elig, haha) The guy is good, but he didnt duplicate what he was in 2010 in 2011 bc some people wised up. Hits went up in 2011, but doubles nearly cut in half. Player to player I'd rather have a few guys below on the list, esp beyond 2012 but that 3b elig boosts him up. The bearded one ain't done yet.
3. Justin Upton - Dude is a big time threat and will only be 25 this year. For dynasty purposes, he may be the best bet of them all. OF isn't as deep as you think it is. If he learns to walk a bit...yikes!
4. Robinson Cano - Yes he is on the wrong side of 29 for his prime, but he can still mash and plays probably the shallowest position in fantasy.
5. Albert Pujols - Dude is a masher...Enough said. I saw something that the Angel's stadium will give him a power boost. The fact that he is a 1B is the only reason he is this low.
6. Adrian Gonzalez - Why the marlins and the rangers gave up on this guy we will never know. He will play this year at 30 and seems to be healthy. If a few of his 45 doubles carry for bombs this year he will be right back in the MVP discussion. 213 hits last year...up from career high of 182 in a line where it is ok to walk!
7. SS/3B - Hanley Ramirez - This guy had a down year because of injury in 2011. He is still young enough (29 after the season) to return to form. Although for future reference he won't have SS elig beyond 2012, wait a minute...Jose does tend to get injured regularly.
8. Justin Verlander - Because he is awesome and I know people will over pay for pitching. He is younger than halladay.
9. Roy Halladay - He is also awesome, but a little older than verlander.
10. Mike Napoli - Will probably be in the line up more often this year. They may let him DH more as well (at least I would bc he is really good). Will play the whole year at 30.
Just missed the cut Josh Hamilton (CF elig for 2012), carl crawford, Adrian beltre, Ryan Braun (Dude was juicing and only managed 33 bombs), Ryan Howard, Mark Teixera, Chase Utley, Dan Uggla, Ian Kinsler, dan haren, tim lincecum, barry zito (LOL just kidding)
