Guys as our season starts to wind down I just want to give some reminders about roster limit in the off-season.
First off prospect limit is returning to 30 after being 32 in season because we made a last minute decision to make the draft 10 rounds and wanted to be fair to everyone. I don't believe this will be a problem for most of us as we should have guys graduating. If you are over 30 and do not have any graduates you will need to cut 1 or 2 prospects before the draft starts and then you will also need to make cuts to fit any new picks you may have.
Secondly, The big league roster limit is 35 players. This applies to in-season and in the off-season. That means if you have prospects graduating that are going to put you over 35, you will need to make cuts to get back down to the roster limit once I move your guys up . You cannot make trades to get back under. You cannot go over the roster limit in-season so you cannot go over in the off-season and then benefit from it.
Lastly, Your RFAs tagged players will count towards your 35. This will keep everyone honest and prevent teams from tying up 2 extra big leaguers through the auction process. Also RFAs, franchise tag and options need to be in before we start the draft, which I will have a date for shortly after the season is over. I know this is moving it up a little bit from what has been done previously but in the past there are always a few teams every year that I have to continuously pester to get declarations from so that we can start free agency. Hopefully this will remedy that since everyone loves the draft and are always raring to go.
A week and a half left and then playoffs. Good Luck to everyone still fighting.
Also hoping Pujols can keep it going and get to 700!!
