I found an old Excel file on my computer (from Office 2003!) that had the draft lists from 2008. Unfortunately, I don't have the teams who made the picks recorded, so I can't call out people (I can note my picks.) I guess there's only a handful of original people left anyway, so let's just assume that all the bad picks are from managers who have since bailed. (Note that the draft was 8 rounds and we had 18 teams. A few picks were missed, but I'm not sure exactly where those occurred.)

141. Ryan Sweeney - looking at some of the picks from the previous rounds, really not a bad Mr. Irrelevant
BEST PICKS
Honorable Mention to Bruce/Longoria/Price at the top - not a bunch of surplus value, but they've all met expectations (maybe not quite for Bruce but it's still hard to complain)
(7) Jacoby Ellsbury
(8) Clayton Kershaw - shows the advantages of going for a guy who might be a year or two further away than some of the other top picks
(13) Joey Votto
(21) Carlos Gonzalez - panned out better than Fernando Martinez & Wladimir Balentien (selected ahead of him)
(30) Andrew McCutchen - by my count, we're probably at 6 guys who would be drafted in the first 2 rounds of a standard league this year (Ellsbury, Kershaw, Votto, CarGo, Cutch, Longoria) with Bruce & Price not far behind.
(31) Jason Heyward
(41) Carlos Gomez - probably another Top 25 overall player for this season, though he took a while to figure it out which hurts his value in our format
(49) Michael Bourn
(50) Gio Gonzalez
(66) Elvis Andrus
(80) Max Scherzer - a great pick, but a touch of Carlos Gomez Syndrome - didn't peak until his rookie contract ended
(90) Chris Davis - another late bloomer, another 2014 1st rounder.
(97) Giancarlo Stanton - known as "Mike" at the time
(107) Trevor Cahill - not a sexy pick, but a lot of value at this point
(122) Travis Wood - a down-on-his-luck Trevor Cahill
(125) Madison Bumgarner - just stupid value here. Has delivered pretty much since Day 1 in the majors too.
(131) Brett Anderson - I'll take his effective 60 innings per year over Brandon Hynick and Michael Main, sure
WORST PICKS
(4) Joba Chamberlain - maybe not a good sign to share a name and physique with Star Wars' fattest character
(10) Cameron Maybin - has occasionally provided value, but looking at this loaded draft, he falls short
(11) Brandon Wood - Oh no. Just no.
(12) Travis Snider - kept getting chances, but is about out of them.
(15) Andy LaRoche - a fitting start to my draft history in this league.
(18) Wladimir Balentien - shares most of a first name with future Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero. That's it.
(19) Fernando Martinez - a really young prospect who kept showing up on Top 100 lists for a few years, but never did much.
(26) Reid Brignac
(27) Humberto Sanchez - I honestly don't remember who this is.
(37) Matt Antonelli - I remember he was supposed to be the Padres' 2B of the future starting that year. Obviously didn't happen.
(38) Dellin Betances
(39) Jeff Clement
(40) Josh Vitters - #3 overall pick who put up some brutal major league numbers in 2012 and that may be it for him.
(43) Eric Patterson - Corey's less successful brother.
(44) Adam Miller - I remember being all about this guy. I just assume that his arm has literally fallen off his body since then, probably making a sandwich or something.
