wow hate to start the trading year like this but this is an obvious VETO.
argue all you guys want and give your side if you want but in no way can you convince me that this is not more than a salary dump.
Andre Ethier is a worse player with worse stats than Beltran that is just facts and he is being paid $26 M more.
.300 - 22 - 84 - 78 - 4 .292 - 11 - 62 - 64 - 0
and you want to say well Ethier had a good year before he was hurt?
2010 - .292 - 23 - 82 - 71 - 2 .... looks eerily similar to Beltran huh? Except you're paying this bad contract that's $40 M !!
Britton would maybe make this up if it was Zach. For those who don't know about Britton here goes ... he was 1 -13 , yes that's one win ... had a 6.91 ERA and for his career is now 4-18 with a 4.82 ERA he has also walked more than he had struck out. He has also had two arm surgeries including Tommy John 2 years ago. To say he should not be on a roster is just plain obvious.
Sorry guys re-work this one.

I personally have no problem with this deal. I see why there could be complaints about it but deals like this are made all the time. Yes Britton has had arm surgery and hasn't performed up to where he should but he still has upside. Deals where equal players are dealt and a prospect or pick is thrown in to "balance" out the deal cause of cap are made all the time.

Card are you insane with those older trade comparisons? LOL
In the deal that I traded for Beltran I gave up a starting and very quality SS and a guy who on that date was one of the best relievers in baseball. That argument makes no sense. And in the other one you're telling me that Britton is the same as Logan Morrison ? That's just a joke LOL, and when was he a "stud prospect" , considering he was never on baseball america's top 100 list and never had a winning I guess just in your mind he was?
I know you don't know much about baseball but even you can see they aren't the same guy, and yes I did leave off that 3 years ago Beltran had a bad season, I also left off that 4 years ago he had a great year, oh and every year of his career outside of that one as well LOL.
We can't have people giving crazy bad contracts to mediocore players and then dumping then year after year on lesser owners. Cards gave out a terrible overpriced contract and found someone to pawn him off on. If this trade passes it passes, but we have two veto's already so I'm obviously not the only one who thinks the worse player who costs 3x's as much as the other and a terrible prospect for a good CF is a bad deal.

Texas I agree that Britton may have some upside but with limited roster space now on minor league rosters he really falls into the category of unrosterable. He at best is a fringe guy and chances are that Cards was going to dump him.
And I agree that deals with equal players happens all the time with a prospect thrown in but not when there is a $40 and a $15 player. Beltran also plays a much tougher position to roster. What I am asking is that what benefit at all is this for Stars? With the $40 he would be sending look at all the talent he can go spend money on, Etheir is certainly not a $40 player I think we can all agree to that, and really shouldn't even be a $25 guy. These are as you say Texas are equal players , although Beltran is better it's not by much, so why take on all that cash ?

YAY! Virst veto of the season. Trade Committee is now required to vote.
Yankees - Veto Cubs - Veto Rangers - Allow Cardinals - N/A Phillies -
If it is tied then Rockies will decide the trades fate.
