Their have been many ideas to improve weekly gameplay throughout the season. Lets face it most divisions are decided in the beginning of August so I am for shaking it up a bit. Here are the ideas presented so far and ones I have thought of:
#1. Add 2 Wildcard slots. I am a big advocate of this for the simple reason it gives more guys a chance and therefor more activity in the league.
#2. Change from 4 divisions back down to 2. If we did this we would just put the odd # teams based off the 2011 final standings in 1 division and evens in the other.
#3. Keep 4 divisions but reorder the teams. Yankees winning by 60 games in his division and my division having 3 of the top 5 overall records would help even this out. Plus we could create so rivalries. Who doesn't want to see Cards and Yanks in the same division? OK State boys in another(Angels & Rangers)?
What other ideas do you have? Should we just leave it alone?

I'd be in favor of a wild card as well but what does the division winners get ? We can't really say home field means anything and can't really give a bye week can we? So the wild card sort of takes away from division play but I'd be in favor if we can work it out. As far as realignment I like 4 divisions and what we have now.

Here is my opinion.
- Keep the 4 divisions as they are. - Add a 2 wildcards which would give the #1 and #2 seeds a bye in the first round. - (Mets idea from last year) Go to an unbalanced schedule where you play teams within your division more. Guaranteed 3 times would work.
Without a little structure change though we could end up with 3 teams from 1 division making the playoffs. So I would propose 2 leagues with 2 divisions each. That would take care of that problem. Like an NL West/East and AL West/East.

I like: -2 divisions of 8 teams each (even #'s in one, odds in the other) -6 teams make the playoffs, with the 2 division winners getting byes -schedule set so that you play everyone in your division twice, which would leave you playing some teams in the other division twice, some once

espn puts teams into the playoffs as such with 2 divisions...
winners of each division and then the best team there after from either division based on record.

nobody else has an opinion??? Lets get rid of this 4 division crap and put the right teams in!
Our 4 division system is flawed bc of no wildcard and the fact that the teams schedules aren't weighted in division...everyone has the same schedule so the best teams should make the play offs...right? Makes sense to me!

I like how it was my first year - 2 divisions of 8 with top 4 records getting in the dance.

I like the four divisions & weighted schedules to face those in your division more. Like the idea of two leagues with two divisions. That way you could play everyone in your division twice, everyone else once, & the teams from the other three divisions that finished in the same slot as you one more time. That would add to 21 weeks, which leaves room for a one week playoff with the wildcard teams & two weeks for the LCS & Championship. I say one wildcard from each league & they play the lower division winner. If we want to reestablish divisions, that's fine or it can be like real life where people have to fight in their division even if it is tougher than other divisions, ala the Rays. Just a thought to try to keep more managers in the hunt for longer.

we dont have the options to weight the schedules bc of ESPN's limitation

I like the 4 divisions with weighted schedule but yes I think we wanted to do that and Cards is right. I'm fine the way it is but would also be good for two divisions, whatever you guys think is best
