With what I'm suggesting yes. You would be able to franchise 1 player and designate 2 rfas every year

I like Mets idea of three per year and allowing the decision of which ones to use the designation on can come at the end of auctions. I also see how that could be frustrating for some people during the auctions

Something else we should consider since we are at least discussing a max contract franchise tag option. We currently do top 5 to establish the buyout price. Which seems to work for most of the positions. But how do you guys feel about possibly expanding out the OF and SP pool to say 8 or so? They are the 2 biggest player pools so it only seems logically that their pool should be a little larger.

I agree for OF and SP its seems logic 3 OF and 5 SP so many good players out there , i wonder how much it drops if we indeed do it

I like the 1 max, 2 RFA idea.
I think I am for expanding the buyout price for OF/SP too, but it's probably worth running the numbers to get an idea of how much it changes before voting on that. I could even potentially do it, just don't have the time tonight...

Plus, since I'm searching for a house I haven't been sleeping much lately anyways. I will try to look into what 8 SPs and OFs would be for last season.

If my calculation is correct for SP it wud be in the $36 and Of is in the $39 , somewhat in a $5 drop for Of and SP
for next year

Well a i think a $5 drop brings it to a more reasonable level and is a totally acceptable drop. But it is your guy's league, Rox and I may be driving it but you we need you all to tell us where to go.

I like the compromise you and Yanks came up with. It seems to address RFA and the dynasty aspect. I also like Mets’ idea as well especially not naming your RFA tag until after the auction ended.

Considering all the big money guys are off the board I just used what is currently out here. Here is what using 8 for the figures for OF and SP would be, assuming I didn't miss anyone.
Betts 43.30 Harper 47.25 Stanton 46.05 Ozuna 28.05 Yelich 34 A. Jones 29.70 Trout 47.25 Upton 36.00 =$38.95 opposed to $43.30
Carrasco 32 Mad Bum 35 Stras 28.90 Sale 32.30 Arrieta 28.80 Max 31.50 Kershaw 58.50 Hamels 31.50 =$34.90 opposed to $41.55

I could get on board with the post auction RFA tag. If we completely ditch the spreadsheet, which I hope we will, I'll just have to come up with a system to track that.

I’m a fan of the less rfa the better. I like the open auctions as they really create a competitive league.
I would still like to see a long term contract incentive to simulate real life.

I totally agree with Jared. Long term contracts are a must. I am not sure why we have a 4 year cap to begin with it seems like a weird arbitrary number for a dynasty league

I would like longer contracts as well but that is a completely separate conversation that we can have a later time. It seemed like most where in favor of changing the current RFA system so I a trying to address that first. And while I would like to really cut back on the amount RFA, I do believe we still need to have some amount of them. I think there has to be a way for teams to potentially keep players while also allowing the league to dictate what there worth is. This is a dynasty league, if you want to play in a yearly open auction league there are plenty of those leagues out there.
