Here is your chance to be heard. Do you want to increase the draft length from 6 rounds to 8 rounds as well as raise the prospect limit to 25 from 20?

I am honestly torn on this. Anyone care to make the argument for both sides?

Honestly I think this will become and issue every couple of years and the solution will be to reverse whatever we voted on before. I can hear it now "The draft is to thin due to the increases. We need to shorten the draft and reduce the prospect limit".

Well I voted Yes and wud Want to see how it goes . But dont really wanna argue over it as i wud be fine either way , as to Draft thinning bcuz of Increases i dont know as i havent been a part of the 8rd draft , but IMO there's still alot of Hidden Prospect out there that might contribute in the Future And they seem to be getting better each year bcuz of the Great Player Development that the Major League Clubs have.

Draft is too Thin?? I heard this one this year tho! "Let's Lower the Limit of Relievers" Why not DRAFT them?? ;( 8 rounds sounds good! Also IMHO the Reason WHY we cut it to 20 and 6 was cause LOTS of GM's Didn't know How to Draft and that was Including me and Other GM's where Stock Pilling their Prospect like Yankees Did so that's why He's a back to back winner Now almost ALL GM's in here KNOW what to Draft so I don't see THIS FOR A PROBLEM AT ALL ""The draft is to thin due to the increases. We need to shorten the draft and reduce the prospect limit"

IF there was an 8 rounders these two past year I DOUBT these guys where still out there Milone, Cook, Cishek, Collins, Corbin, Quintana, Griffin, Santiago, Bass, Phelps and some MORE that I can't even remember and now this year Jim Henderson and some!! All those guys would've been Drafted for sure And would've Prevented some GM's of Cutting other prospect that NOW are doing better but because of the 20 Limit and also I wouldn't have traded Gibson and Hagadone and Gillaspie for nothing but Oh well just some stuff that happened!! And that's why I don't like to Put the Limits of Reliever to 25 Innings IMHO DRAFT GOOD!!! If I was able to do a Good Draft like Most of all GM's did this year then EVERYONE Could!!
2 other Names GOLDY and The Savior should have been DRAFTED if there was an 8 rounds!!

The savior??? I would have drafted goldschmidt if we had more spots but I was stuck at 1b with freeman.
We never had a 25 cap limit. We went from unlimited to 20. We are just correcting for that over correction to get it back to a deep like while keeping competitive balances for teams to grow.

I could go on and list who didn't get draftd and who got passed on, only to go in the top two rounds the following year.
But my reasoning to up it would be as simple as this when I came into the league (almost two full years ago) there were a lot of deadbeat gms, a few loaded farm teams and a bunch filled with crap. As we have replaced gms with active, knowledgable ones we have seen a lot of trash fall off and we now have a bunch of farm teams filled with promising young talent with not a lot of open slots. At the same time everyone has gotten better with their prospect knowledge and it seems like the talent pool of prospects in real life gets better and deeper with every year.

I echo what Indians said. I think there is enough prospects out there to justify it and even if there isnt so what, so the Rookie league guy you take in Round 8 never becomes anything, whats the big deal. I know over the years there have been guys that didnt get drafted that I had high on my draft board (Goldschmidt, Taveras, Profar, Yelich stand out the most to me at the moment.) but just ran out of picks. So from a talent standpoint I dont think its a problem.
We went from unlimited down to 20. While I agree it shouldnt be unlimited because that might get ridiculous with teams eventually having over 100 prospects, Im not sure why we picked 20, seems kind of arbirtrary. Why not 25? 30? 40?
I guess my main argument would be the simple reason that it would make it more interesting and importantly, fun. More prospects, more trading, and most importantly, more rounds in the draft which is one of the more fun things of the year as Im sure most will agree.
