Missed you guys! Hope everyone is doing well.
It’s been pretty dispiriting to get to this point, and I still have concerns about how things will go, but I am excited to have baseball coming back.
I wanted to bring up for discussion - do we want to change the format with the short season? My longtime home league is also head to head, but we are switching to Roto just for this year. They’ve talked about other changes, what with different roster sizes, likely shorter pitch counts, etc. but in my personal opinion we’d be fine with everything else how we have it. Head to head just seems like an issue since the schedule would be lopsided and playoffs would eat up a big chunk of games.

I'm on board for anything we choose as long as we have some baseball! Yes I think roto might work great

With a 60 games season and no certainty that it gets completed, we are going to have to go to a roto format with no playoffs for this season. Everything else will be handled like normal, with contracts progressing as usual. Kinda sucks but it's a wasted season for all. Hopefully come next season it's business as usual.

For now lets open trading back up and in a week or so when more it looks like everyone has woken up from their slumber we will open auctions back up.

Mike Weiss is a genius.
6 weeks of “regular season don’t matter”. If your team sucks for 6 weeks or your star player gets corona, that keeps the good teams down and also creates more of a “fluke” or injury impact.
Let’s give everyone a season.
Please, just inverse of the bottom ranks or something random to prevent tanking for the draft order.

I've kind of been thinking that we should use a draft lottery generator for the draft order.

If we do a draft lottery it should only be for the bottom 5-6 teams and by record for the rest of the league

Agreed on the lottery. I think you could potentially throw all teams in there so long as the percentages were weighed appropriately, but would also be fine with limiting it to 6 teams or so. Whatever's easiest, and we can sort out details later.
Also, next year's prospect draft is going to be...interesting. We'll draft close to as many people as MLB did this year (if we have 8 rounds). And I don't imagine there will be many "pop-up" prospects, a lot of guys who are making the summer camp rosters are already owned.

I was just testing a draft lottery generator and it'll be pretty easy whatever we decide. Personally I like the weighted draft lottery. We could even get creative and do the lottery for each round if we wanted. Obviously we don't need to make a decision anytime soon but just some food for thought.

Lottery for each round would be fun but just some extra work.

I do like the creativity through all of this. Also, I'm with Reds and think we may need to cut our draft length down a little, at least for this year.

Agree with shortening the draft some. Down to 6 rounds maybe 5?

With doing roto, are we having a games played cap for each position and an overall innings cap or just going with what we normally do?

No cap but I do think we should lower the in-season signing limit to 10 or less for this year to keep guys from streaming.
