What if we kept years 1 and 2 the same, but then increased the 3rd and 4th year? Right now we are just voting if we want to increase it. If this passes we'll discuss options. So that could be an option. I was also thinking. 1.25, 2.5, 5 & 10. And im sure there will be other suggestions

There does need to be at least an increase in the salary and the easiest way to do that probably would be to add a year or two onto the rookie contracts. If things keep going the way they are almost everyone will have teams of prospects with a couple incredibly high paid veterans. That's already starting to happen some. The average salary seems to be getting higher and higher

Can the 2 teams that didn't vote please do so. So that we can move on one way or the other.

Agreed, we do need to figure out what exactly our increase is going to be, whether we want to add extra years, etc.

We should just wait until March 1st of next year to bring this up again. Only to realize it's to late to do anything and then put it off again.....

I think Phillies had a good point about keeping the 1st and 2nd years the same. I know Ive had guys lose their prospect eligibility only to end up back in the minors so you are paying them to be in the minors basically. I dont see why a first year guy would earn more than the minimum anyways. Having said that, if it was made $1.25 for the first year lets face it, that really isnt going to make much of a difference. Other than that I dont have an issue with Indians numbers. So I guess my I would suggest $1, $2.5, $5, $10
Personally I dont like how the contract extension amounts are calculated because you end up paying for other owners possibly outrageous bids. Maybe have it a set amount every year.

Kinda like what is Happening with Nick Franklin or some other players Not every Player in their Final Year is Worth $15M but again there are some Players that GM's do Fall in Love with and wanna Keep and also at least like that we could stop some of the $60M Bids that is IMHO what is Damaging this League!

Today is the day. Rockies and I will discuss RW increase options and will get a poll up so we can put this to bed.
